Jermain Cole, American rapper better known as J. Cole, has announced the release date for ‘The Off-Season’, his highly-anticipated sixth studio album.

In a Twitter post yesterday, the Dreamville Records co-founder said the project will be released on May 14.

“Just know this was years in the making. My new album The Off-Season available everywhere 5/14,” he wrote alongside what seemed to be the art cover.

In the picture, the 36-year-old North Carolina star can be seen standing on a basketball court with a Socratic look and a net-pole set on fire beside him.

‘The Off-Season’ comes on the back of the success recorded by ‘KOD’, his 2018 album, which carries an abbreviation that stands for “Kids on Drugs,” “King Overdose” and “Kill Our Demons.”

‘KOD’, his fifth studio album, was also characterized by powerful verses which often dwell on societal issues such as taxation, abuse of power, addiction, among others in the United States.

The Grammy-nominated rapper is well known for using his lyrics to address a range of contemporary issues across the world and ‘Off-Season’ may not be different.
